Dirt Bike / Motorcycle Tire Studs FAQ

What are motorcycle tire studs used for?

Kavonix Motorcycle tire studs are designed to improve traction on ice, snow, mud, and loose terrain. They help riders maintain control, stability, and braking performance in extreme riding conditions.

Will screw tire studs fall out while riding?

No. Kavonix high-quality screw tire studs feature deep threads that securely grip into the tire. When installed correctly on proper tread depth, they stay firmly in place without glue, even during aggressive riding.

What type of tires are compatible with tire studs?

Tire studs work best with:

  • Dirt bike tires

  • Enduro tires

  • Off-road knobby tires

They require sufficient tread depth (usually 10 mm or more) for secure installation.

How many tire studs do I need per tire?

Recommended setup:

  • Front tire: 60–80 studs

  • Rear tire: 100–150 studs

More studs provide better traction, especially on ice and snow.

Can I ride on pavement with tire studs?

Kavonix Tire studs are designed for off-road, ice, and snow conditions. Riding on pavement may reduce their lifespan and is not recommended for extended use.
